Special award: Manufaktur product 2017 - quality & value

Anniversary ring from Fischer Trauringe honored at the German Manufactory Awards!

The "Manufactory Product of the Year" award was presented for the fourth time by the German Manufactory Association. The jury honored a total of six products in four categories: Product of the Year, Quality & Value, Innovation & Functionality and Design. It assessed design, innovation, product benefits, sustainability, quality, cultural benefits and the perception of trends.

Fischer Trauringe is award winner in the category Quality & Value!

The beautiful platinum jewelry ring from the wedding ring manufacturer Fischer & Sohn particularly impressed the high-caliber jury. It awarded the anniversary ring, which was created and manufactured to mark the 250th anniversary of watches and jewelry in the gold town of Pforzheim, as the best product in terms of quality and value.

"We are particularly proud of the award in the Quality & Value category," said Wolfgang Fischer, owner of Fischer & Sohn, at the award ceremony. "With this award, the German manufacturers not only honor our jewelry ring for the Pforzheim jewelry and watch anniversary, but also pay tribute to the traditional craftsmanship of our setters and goldsmiths, for example."

The award-winning ring:
The Pforzheim wedding ring manufacturer Fischer & Sohn presents an outstanding anniversary ring to mark the 250th anniversary of the jewelry and watch industry in Pforzheim.
For almost 100 of these 250 years, the Fischer wedding ring manufacturer has helped shape the city's history and has witnessed both the highs and the lows, the endless ups and downs of Pforzheim, the city of gold.

"Infinite" means beyond any size, beyond any comparison. And that also applies to Pforzheim. A comparable story about the development and historical course of a city is unparalleled. Taking this extraordinary development as an opportunity, Fischer is reflecting on the 250 years in an equally special ring to mark the industry's anniversary, and not just in terms of design - the material is also pioneering:

The infinity of the city's history is visualized by the symbol wrapped around the ring. The almost 100 years that Fischer has been shaping the history of Pforzheim are expressed by 100 sparkling, flawless diamonds. The fine ceramic inlays in this model are in a subtle but expressive lavender blue. Blue also plays a major role in the coat of arms of the golden city of Pforzheim. The jewelry ring made of 950/- platinum, the "royal metal", is part of the Fischer "Elise" collection, which is known for its filigree ornaments, imaginative play with colors and newly interpreted craftsmanship. The collection now comprises around 20 pieces of jewelry and is available from around 65 Fischer jewelry partners throughout Germany, as well as in Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hong Kong and China.

The lively color effect with sometimes delicately shimmering mother-of-pearl effects, subtle color effects or high-contrast coloring gives the pieces of jewelry a very expressive look. These colorful accents are achieved using a new type of ceramic-based composite material. This material was originally used in dental medicine and, based on its actual purpose, has outstanding properties in terms of strength and resistance to breakage. The composite material has been further developed and dyed for use in jewelry. The colored material is applied by hand in several layers to the laser-cut recesses on the ring and then cured layer by layer under UV light. Not only the insertion of the inlay, but also the setting of the 100 sparkling diamonds and numerous other processing steps are lovingly carried out by hand by the resourceful goldsmiths and setters at Fischer Trauringmanufaktur. Despite numerous manual steps, the product is suitable for serial production. The finished ring is color-fast as well as shock and wear resistant. The innovative material is therefore ideal for the production of rings, earrings and necklaces.

The ring model 25-37564-070 in 950/- platinum with 100 sparkling diamonds of quality TW/If, total 0.516 ct., size 55, costs 7,459 euros at a platinum price of 28.35 euros/g (as of 11.05.2017).

The jury was made up of well-known personalities from the manufactory sector: Dr. Christopher Heinemann (Manufactum), Ute Czeschka (manufakturhaus.com), Benedikt Freiherr Poschinger von Frauenau (Freiherr von Poschinger Glasmanufaktur), Pascal Johanssen (Deutsche Manufakturenstraße), Franziska Klün (ysso.de), Christoph Krause (Kompetenzzentrum für Gestaltung, Fertigung und Kommunikation der Handwerkskammer Koblenz), Klaus-Peter Piontkowski (Genuss Pur und Genuss Professional)
