Sustainability at Fischer

Sustainability and climate protection are among Fischer's core values, which we actually live by and are not just written down on paper. Fischer Trauringe sees the sustainable use of resources as a core task.

First and foremost, this means protecting the environment and using raw materials sparingly. Every wedding ring is manufactured at the Pforzheim site, where all stages of production are carried out. Material efficiency is a priority in all areas of the company, both in terms of consumption and procurement.

Precious metals

A wedding ring is not a disposable item! At best, you will wear it on your finger for a lifetime. This makes the wedding ring one of the most sustainable products of all. All fine metals used by Fischer are sourced locally and are guaranteed to be made from recycled materials.

Although "fair" gold is becoming increasingly popular with end customers, it also has to be transported long distances from mines in North and South America to local production facilities. Instead, Fischer relies entirely on recycled gold. No additional land is used for this, as no mining takes place. In addition, the added value of the recycling process is created locally and provides jobs and tax revenue here. It doesn't get any fairer than recycled gold!

Fischer Trauringe not only uses recycled gold, but also recycled platinum and palladium.

Diamonds

Fischer pays attention to the origin of the material, not only for precious metals, but also for diamonds. Only diamonds that have been mined in accordance with the criteria laid down in the Kimberley Process are processed. This ensures that mining takes place under fair and controlled conditions.

C0₂ neutrality and sustainable production

Fischer has set itself the goal of CO₂ neutrality. By investing heavily in state-of-the-art photovoltaic systems, the company already generates almost 80% of the electricity it uses itself. This means that Fischer uses one of the most environmentally friendly ways of generating electricity.
A major advantage is the avoidance of pollutants in the air, which reduces the
greenhouse effect, for example, as well as the acidification of soil and water.
Any necessary electricity that cannot be generated in-house is provided by a selected electricity supplier on the basis of
renewable energies.

Throughout the entire production process, Fischer pays attention to the sustainable and efficient use of resources. Every day, we work to exploit synergies and make processes more efficient. To this end, devices and machines are energy-optimized and always state of the art. For several years now, Fischer has only been using energy-optimized light sources throughout the company. LED lighting is also used at special workstations, such as microscopes, goldsmith's boards, etc.

Another key objective is strict compliance with environmental regulations. By operating a small electroplating plant, waste products such as waste water are checked daily. Fischer ensures that the various types of waste water and liquids are separated by type with the aim of recycling and returning the waste water to the water cycle. In individual cases, tested and certified specialist companies take over the disposal and reprocessing of substances hazardous to water.

Compliance with legal regulations is regularly checked by independent inspection bodies. Professional recycling is a core issue at Fischer. It goes without saying that metal waste, for example, is collected according to type. These are returned to the cycle by remelting in our own smelter.
